Xi not only means reviewing and reviewing, but also means practicing and practicing. For example, the six arts of a gentleman are etiquette, music, archery, horsemanship, calligraphy and mathematics. After learning the skills of archery, it is natural to practice it repeatedly. Merely reviewing the knowledge in books is not considered "practice". Will you be happy if you study and then do an internship? Take archery as an example. The teacher teaches, we learn, and then we 'practice' with bows and arrows ourselves. This counts as practice, but will we be happy just by doing this? I think most people cannot get happiness from it and even feel tired. So, is it because Confucius has a high level that he is not tired? Obviously this is not the case. If Confucius learned archery, he would be most happy when he suddenly encountered a foreign enemy and fought against the enemy with a bow and arrow. Only in this way can the true use of archery be brought into play. We can also think about it from another angle, if doing this is happiness, then how can learning lead to the most unhappiness? Is it because you don't review your lessons after studying? Is it because you didn't practice after studying? No, it is that after learning, there is no use for it, and learning is in vain. This is what makes people most unhappy. So the deeper meaning of this sentence is: learn and gain, and finally be able to show what you have learned at the right time. Isn't this a happy thing? Next sentence, if it is just a friend coming from afar, why do you need to say it out loud? Why is it connected to the previous sentence? Obviously, the "joy" in "unpleasant" here is not ordinary happiness. Therefore, this sentence should mean that like-minded friends come from afar to communicate and learn together. In addition to enhancing friendship, they can improve together and gain something as well. If it is a semantic progression from the previous sentence, then there is a new interpretation: after you have achieved something, even if you are not able to show what you have learned, like-minded people will come from afar to communicate and find that you are not alone, and this friend may have the opportunity to realize the same ambitions and learning on your behalf. This can be regarded as making up for the regrets in your heart. Isn't it also a very happy thing? Then, the phrase "It is not a gentleman to be stunned if you don't know something" can be naturally understood as: because we have not really used what we have learned, we are not known and understood by others, but even so, what we have learned prevents us from getting angry. This is good moral character and cultivation, and isn't it the state of a gentleman? Therefore, Confucius is saying that as long as you study hard, or have the opportunity to express your ambitions, or have like-minded people to do it, or improve your self-cultivation, no matter what, there will be benefits and no harm.

If you look deeper, the meaning may have changed slightly, and there are many miscellaneous thoughts that cannot be implemented.

It is really admirable that the ancient sages could think of and do this. Times have changed, we need to be more scientific and progressive, and we can't be paranoid anymore.
