The snake demon Chi Ye killed a rogue immortal, took his inner core, and gave it to the nine-lives cat demon Gu Ling to consume, helping her increase her cultivation. But who could have known that the rogue immortal was a disciple of a celestial god? Once Heaven learned what had happened, it sent celestial soldiers to hunt them down. And this was the very day Chi Ye had to face his heavenly tribulation. He had already exhausted himself saving Gu Ling, and now, with the tribulation bearing down on him, his life was in even greater danger. As the final bolt of heavenly lightning struck, Gu Ling risked her life to save him, heedless of her own safety. The nine-tailed fox immortal A Yi, who had cultivated alongside Gu Ling, could not bear to see her die and took the blow in her place. His soul was damaged, and only the Fox King’s power kept him from becoming insane and mindless. He hid in a cave to recover. The snake demon Chi Ye survived the tribulation and became a Golden Immortal, taking his place among the immortals. Gu Ling was blamed for killing the rogue immortal and sentenced to remain a demon for all eternity. And so a new drama began…
