A sudden flood, the mystery surrounding a county magistrate’s unexplained suicide, and a strange secret letter received by Gu Shenyan, the Grand Secretary of the court, force him to travel to Jin County to investigate. The case leads to the shocking truth behind the defeat of the 100,000-strong Wei family army in Emperor’s Valley ten years ago. The clash between civil officials and military commanders, and the struggle over power and public sentiment, ignite a bloody conflict in the already precarious court of the Great Qi dynasty. Talented men and beautiful women, tender hearts and iron-willed heroes: beneath the interests that entangle them all lies a burning, undying sincerity.
Nice! It's just a bit lacking and not satisfying.
