For China, ASEAN countries are emerging markets with great potential and important strategic partners for China. Both sides share common interests and demands on many major international and regional issues. China and ASEAN started the dialogue process in 1991. Over the past two decades, political mutual trust between the two sides has been continuously enhanced, economic and trade cooperation has achieved remarkable results, and cooperation in other fields has been continuously expanded and deepened.
