An American clipper ship, the USS Jonathan, left San Francisco, California, heading for South Africa. The ship was carrying more than a thousand immigrants recruited by an immigration company, preparing to go to Lagoa Bay, a place granted land development and management rights by the Portuguese government. Unexpectedly, at the beginning of the voyage, things went contrary to expectations. Under the attack of violent storms, the ship ran aground on Khost Island in the Magellan Islands. The victims of the Jonathan settled on this island. What kind of future awaits them?

The protagonists' survival experience on the island was also very interesting, and I was deeply impressed by their perseverance. As the book says: "On this desert island, survival is our only goal." This sentence made me feel their determination and courage. I recommend that you also read this book, I believe you will also like it!
