The plot of this novel is engaging and the characters are very vividly drawn. I especially like the section in the book that describes the Bai family's birthday celebrations. The characters' performances are very real, which allowed me to see the complexity of human nature. Although the characters Lian Cai, Fei Biao and Feng Kuang have their own purposes, I was also moved by their respect for Bai Mu. This book has beautiful language and is well worth reading!
