The Warship Travels to the End of the World

On April 3, 2015, the author set out from Zhoushan with the Chinese Navy's 152nd fleet to perform escort missions in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters and visit around the world. The 152-ship fleet successfully completed the 20th batch of naval escort missions, escorting a total of 39 batches of 90 Chinese and foreign ships, effectively maintaining the security of strategic passages and fully demonstrating our image as a responsible major country. After the escort mission ended, the formation directly transferred to the global mission without rest, spanning the Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean, and visited 16 countries on 5 continents. The 152nd Ship Formation has created many records for the People's Navy ship formations such as long mission time, wide sea area, long total voyage, visits to many countries, and many Chinese and foreign joint exercises. The results are fruitful and far-reaching. They fully demonstrate the achievements of the Navy's modernization construction and the excellent military and political qualities of the officers and soldiers. They have achieved the purpose of promoting the concept of harmonious oceans, deepening understanding and mutual trust, and consolidating the development of friendship. They have continued to write a new chapter in the People's Navy's long-sea military practice, and won honors for the motherland and the army. As a reporter accompanying the ship, he is also a participant and witness of various historical records. The author uses an atypical form of mission reporting, using words and pictures to record major moments during the mission, life at sea, interesting anecdotes, and exotic customs.
