Chronicles of Yunhuang I: Song of the Four Seasons

Qingyue, the willful and spirited Princess of Cangwu, accompanies her father to Yuejing for the new emperor's enthronement ceremony. There she meets Li Yun, a guard of the capital. Though they come from different worlds, they fall for each other, unaware that Yuejing is on the brink of upheaval. First, Li Yun's family is thrown into turmoil when his grandfather kills his uncle. Li Yun is forbidden from seeing Qingyue and placed under house arrest. Then the new emperor, Shengning, accuses the Prince of Cangwu of rebellion and arrests his entire family. Only the prince, Yan Zhao, escapes alone. When the new emperor kills the prince's family to force him to surrender, Li Yun risks his life to save Qingyue. The Prince of Cangwu raises an army, and Emperor Shengning keeps Qingyue hostage while sending Li Yun to put down the rebellion. The bloodline of emperors carries all their grudges and grievances, while love cannot escape the tangled fate of the royal succession.

Fate treats every lost soul in the cruelest way, tearing apart everything beautiful, piece by piece.

The ancient land of Yunhuang has room for so much evil and sorrow. Surely it can also make room for two pure souls to bring each other warmth.
