This book is written after the green-headed old monster (Mackerel Spirit) was trapped in Tianhe with a meteorite by the Tathagata of the West for 500 years, and was rescued by Chang'e. The green-headed old monster returns to the world, subdues the demons, and does whatever he wants. After this incident angered the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor sent troops to destroy it. Then the green-headed old monster fought with the gods again, but was finally subdued by the Tathagata of the West and pressed into the Tianhe again, never to recover.
