I like Tom, he is responsible, responsible and smart. But this book didn't let me see any Grapes of Wrath. I thought they would finally start to resist later, but it stopped abruptly when they ran to hide from the rain. That's not how the white space is left, or there is too much white space. Although the article states that spring is coming, I still can't imagine how they can resist. Exposing dead babies and starved corpses to the townspeople was hardly an act of angry rebellion. Tom knew how to resist, but the story did not choose where to end. Instead, it described the miserable heavy rain.
