After Su Jinse was tricked into marriage, she turned her in-laws’ household upside down, only to die at the hands of her ex-husband. She was reborn in the body of Su Jinse, a farm girl.
At home, she has a frail mother and young siblings. They live with her uncle’s family, where they’re worked like oxen and horses, and she’s at risk of being sold to pay off gambling debts.
Su Jinse slaps her uncle’s family, ties up her hair, dresses as a man, and sets up her own household as its head. She can beat up hooligans and catch thieves, becoming the notorious “tigress” whom no one nearby will marry.
By chance, she meets the refined young gentleman Ji Mingche in the woods. He loves cooking, and Su Jinse starts mooching meals off him, never suspecting he’s actually her betrothed. The food is irresistible, so she keeps her secret identity and shamelessly drops by for dinner. Crab yesterday, grilled skewers today. Wow... so delicious.
One day, Ji Mingche arrives with betrothal gifts. Oh no! Her secret identity is exposed! She turns to run, but his servants surround her.
Ji Mingche curls his lips into a faint smile. “Jinse, marriage is arranged by parents and matchmakers. We were betrothed as children, and now that we’re grown, it’s time we got married.”
It's good to watch, but I personally think the ending is a bit hasty. Everything else is good.
