Earth's resources were depleted, and the world plunged into an unprecedented crisis.

Conflict, plunder, and chaos: everyone was swept up in endless war. The global population plummeted, and the few humans left struggled to survive. Death was all that awaited them.

At the brink of despair, a miracle descended.

“Become a Contractor, and you will receive everything. The Astral Paradise can do anything.”

Filled with hope, those summoned by the Paradise crossed through space-time tunnels, only to find themselves in anime worlds that had once existed only in their imaginations: Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer...

They were all terrifyingly real, and terrifyingly dangerous.

Some survived, but far more were lost forever. Those lucky enough to make it back became Contractors. They traded resources with the Paradise, allowing Earth to just barely weather the crisis.

From then on, the world could never escape the Astral Paradise's control. Everything depended on the “equivalent exchange” between Contractors and the Paradise.
