Synopsis

"Hemingway Short Stories" includes 11 of Hemingway's most popular works, including "The Old Man and the Sea" and "The Snows of Kilimanjaro". "The Old Man and the Sea" tells the story of Santiago, an old Cuban fisherman who finally caught a big marlin alone after eighty-four consecutive days without catching a fish. However, the fish was so big that he dragged his boat on the sea for three days before exhaustion. He killed him and tied him to the side of the boat. On the way back, he was repeatedly attacked by sharks. When he returned to port, only the head, tail and a spine were left. Although this is a work with a simple story and a small length, it is rich in meaning. Many teachers use it as a teaching material on heroism education and recommend it to students, making it an enduring bestseller.
