It was the golden age of women’s shoes, and the heyday of department stores. She had been a junior bank employee with a keen eye for investment. Before the 2008 global financial crisis, she sold off all the properties she had invested in, escaping the disaster and earning her first fortune. Believing in hard work and practicality, she turned her attention to brand franchising and chose women’s shoes. She felt her way forward, overcoming one twist after another before expanding into department stores. She entered the purchasing manager’s office as a novice franchisee, and won him over with a promise to grow alongside the department store. What kind of “golden age” was it? Stores stayed open all night! Over the next ten years, she and he, a brand distributor and a department store purchasing manager, joined forces and weathered the industry’s heyday, decline, and reinvention. Together, they witnessed the golden age of department stores, as well as the changes of the times and the progress of society.
Not bad, but it probably hasn't ended yet
