On the planet Beinan, in the year 6325 of the Biyan calendar. For mysterious reasons, Prince Anwei, the legal heir to the throne of Queen Isabella of the Imperial Court, has sworn before the Grand Assembly to renounce his claim to the throne. He has only one child, Princess Anlei. Yet although the Beinan Grand Assembly is technologically advanced, it still upholds an ancient law from the original homeworld’s fifth planet, A672E92, forbidding daughters from inheriting the throne of a female monarch. Despite repeated demands from the royal consort, the Grand Assembly refuses to amend the law. A succession struggle is on the verge of breaking out. What forces and individuals are working so hard to obstruct the process? Can the Imperial Court, which has ruled for thousands of Biyans, hold on to power? How will the rare threat of civil war change the fate of the underage Princess Anlei? How will the struggle between power and civilization change the planet Beinan? Is this a game or a tragedy?!

In March 2014, she launched the Legendary Women in World History series.
Laurel now lives in western Pennsylvania with her beloved parrot.
It’s no wonder that her high school teacher, Lorraine Carey, called Rockefeller’s Legendary Women in World History series “a gold mine for educators who want a complete picture of history.” Debb LaVoie agrees: “She tells a wonderful story.” Another reader says, “I absolutely love her work. I believe she can inspire many young women to start appreciating some historical figures.”
The author suffered a traumatic brain injury in high school and has very poor eyesight, so she is especially interested in high-quality audiobooks. Richard Mann, a British actor and voice artist born in London, recorded Rockefeller’s audiobooks, adding to her compelling, moving, and highly imaginative nonfiction narratives.
