He is a world-class writer who can scold someone at the top of his lungs like a resentful woman. He can scold people while crying and complaining. Posey is full of vulgarity, hypocrisy, frivolity, and empty-headedness. He is a parasite parasitic on Oscar Wilde. Blood Grasshopper finally teamed up with his father to put Wilde in jail, leaving Wilde ruined and ruined. Even for a genius like Wilde, the time of deep love is measured by painful pulses and recorded by the chewing of bitter past events. A moth flies into a flame and is willing to be imprisoned. He is also a miserable person. When he finished speaking happily and his mental high was gone, he still expressed the humble hope in his heart: Why don't you write to me, why don't you contact me, as long as you apologize, I will still forgive your QAQ... Suffocation
After reading it from the bottom of my heart, I feel that I can't help but express my love in the intertwining of love and hate, and reconcile with myself to accept the final ending. The writing is delicate and beautiful enough, even when I was killed and imprisoned, I still begged for a reply, I love to the final humbleness, my pursuit of art and my personal requirement for perfect love.
This is a very long letter, which Wilde wrote to his same-sex partner Bosie in Reading Prison. Reading the whole letter feels completely different from his other works. It is full of strong emotions and makes people want to read it in one sitting. Wilde in this book is a completely resentful woman, which is too real. Throughout the book, he kept complaining about how Bosie let down his feelings, how she treated him badly, how she spent his money, and in the end he got involved in Bosie's family disputes and went to jail and suffered humiliation. During the whole process, Bosie's attitude towards him was so cold, etc. Everything made him sad. He also didn't forget to comment, saying how much Bosie disappointed him, how sad he was, etc. I was really surprised when I read it - it turned out that Oscar Wilde was so humble. Complaining was just the beginning. Later, he began to forgive Bosie, even mentioning the harm Bosie had done to him. In the end, when talking about how sad he was, he added: "I am not writing this letter to make you resentful, but to remove the grudge in my heart. For myself, I must forgive you." "You absolutely believe that I will always forgive you. To be honest, this is what I like most about you, and perhaps the most endearing thing about you." Wilde himself also said, "It is dangerous for me to meet you, but it is fatal to me to meet you at that specific time." In fact, many aspects of their outlook, living habits, etc. Showed that they were not suitable, but after Wilde was released from prison, they still lived together. "But love is not traded in the market, nor is it weighed by a hawker's scale. The joy of love, like the joy of the mind, lies in feeling one's own survival. The purpose of love is to love, neither more nor less." So love just love, without conditions, without purpose, without care. May we all find the person we love and be loved.
In fact, this is my first time reading Oscar Wilde's work. Through the book "From the Deep" (an excellent book), you can not only understand the tumultuous relationship between him and his boyfriend Percy at that era and Wilde's imprisonment, but also better understand Wilde's personal artistic views. This book is an enlightening book for those who study art. In his genius and venomous tone, Wilde quoted the works and remarks of many poets, painters, musicians and philosophers (because they are collectively called artists) in the Renaissance and before to mock the Posey family and his feelings in prison. He also talked about his views on Jesus Christ (this part is very precious). It is worth taking many notes and savoring it carefully.
A person cannot keep a little poisonous snake in his chest forever, and he cannot wake up every night to plant thorns in his soul.
Very good, the love brain that just grew up is gone after reading this book [awkward laugh][awkward laugh][awkward laugh]
As expected of Wilde. This book is very helpful for our conduct in life, principles of making friends and other issues. Don't lower your bottom line of principles easily to anyone, let alone just accept everything casually. The most important thing in a relationship is that you need to be comfortable, rather than just yourself compromising and giving in blindly.
I watched one tenth of it, help, what blinded Wilde's eyes.
Even the pretentiousness that Gide said about Wilde's final book is something I like. The letter part is actually very enjoyable to read. It's really funny to see him comforting himself after all kinds of resentments, especially this paragraph: "I don't need to say what influence I have on you, because you know that I have no influence at all. You often bring this up." Talking is the only boast that is true. To be honest, is there anything I can influence about you? Is it your brain? Is it underdeveloped? Is it your heart? It hasn't happened yet. You are the only person I have ever met in my life that I can't exert any influence at all."
Woohoo, I like Oscar Wilde so much, why haven't I met him?
Others see the dawn unfolding over the mountains, but I see the joyful shouts of God's children.
The person who pays more in a relationship is the most vulnerable to injury. The first few chapters are the author looking back on the ways in which Percy felt sorry for him when they were dating in the past. Later, he talks about beauty and art, like an elder breaking down the truth and teaching it to the children. The feelings are sincere. It's not surprising that the author still wanted to continue this relationship at the end, because the mention of Jesus bearing all the sins of the world made me anticipate this ending.
After reading the last few pages, all I can say is that the potential of Wilde's love brain continues to rise. Gee, you love Wilde too much!
Who doesn't love Oscar Wilde?
Save the world with the eyes of my lover, even if the other person gives me unforgettable pain
This book is emotionally sincere, especially the author's complex emotions towards Percy, which make people feel for him. I like a sentence in the book: "Because this letter will inevitably talk about your life and my life, the past and the future." It perfectly shows the author's thinking. This book is not only about love, but also a profound discussion of human nature and art. It is worth reading.
2026.5.28 I shivered with joy at the thought of the laburnums and lilacs that would bloom in the garden on the day I was released from prison. Then I will see the laburnums swaying in the wind, shining brightly; I will see the lavender feathers of the lilacs flying in the wind, filling the air with their fragrance for me. It is said that when the botanist Linnaeus saw the inconspicuous gorse flowers blooming all over the mountains and fields for the first time in a heathery highland somewhere in England, he was so moved that he fell to his knees and cried with joy. I knew how he felt, and I knew there were tears waiting for me to shed on the petals of some roses. Any color lurking in the pattern of a flower crown or a shell, which in some subtle way reveals the soul of all things, resonates deeply with my nature. To paraphrase Gautier, I am the kind of person who believes that the sensory world exists.
😀OMG, did Wilde have any masochistic tendencies? Want me to love so and so.
To be honest, many of the self-statements in the latter part are related to Jesus, but I can't understand them. But it should be self-pity for one's own imprisonment or one's own literary and artistic value. //But my view on faith is that depression breeds faith. Wilde enjoyed his misery in prison. At the end, every word Wilde says to Percy is love. Not only the last words, but also all the letters in the past 2 years when Percy didn't reply.
The understanding of life is like happiness giving body to beauty, but pain giving beauty soul; it makes me understand the meaning of life and the meaning of pain better.
This is Wilde who is sharp but gentle, rational and emotional. Beautiful language and sincere emotions
This is the biggest gain from reading this year.
The cussing and complaining is very interesting. I picked out the Gospel part and couldn't read it several times. But the more I read, the more moved I became. Mad and the affectionate Wilde signature made me laugh again.
Before this book, I watched Wilde's biographical movie, but I was mostly attracted by Jude Law's sexiness and beauty. When reading this book, I couldn't help but be captivated by Oscar's sensibility and beauty.
I can only say that even though they are all talking about the harm that Percy caused to himself, the charm of language is endless~ Take off from Wuhu, De's writing is so beautiful~
I didn't understand this book at first, but I finally understood it after meeting two such people in real life. Not forgiving is really punishing yourself day and night, because the cognitive gap and ungrateful demands make it impossible for both parties to communicate and gain emotional value. If it makes a big fuss and it doesn't look good, forgive me. Of course when we can finally leave each other we will still become mortal enemies
I read a little bit, but it doesn't seem to be of any use. I don't know. Let's take another look.
"From the Deep". Sadness, glitz and love.
