The writing is delicate and beautiful enough, even when I was killed and imprisoned, I still begged for a reply, I love to the final humbleness, my pursuit of art and my personal requirement for perfect love.

This is a very long letter, which Wilde wrote to his same-sex partner Bosie in Reading Prison. Reading the whole letter feels completely different from his other works. It is full of strong emotions and makes people want to read it in one sitting. Wilde in this book is a completely resentful woman, which is too real. Throughout the book, he kept complaining about how Bosie let down his feelings, how she treated him badly, how she spent his money, and in the end he got involved in Bosie's family disputes and went to jail and suffered humiliation. He also didn't forget to comment, saying how much Bosie disappointed him, how sad he was, etc. I was really surprised when I read it - it turned out that Oscar Wilde was so humble. In the end, when talking about how sad he was, he added: "I am not writing this letter to make you resentful, but to remove the grudge in my heart. For myself, I must forgive you." In fact, this is my first time reading Oscar Wilde's work. To be honest, many of the self-statements in the latter part are related to Jesus, but I can't understand them. But it should be self-pity for one's own imprisonment or one's own literary and artistic value. //But my view on faith is that depression breeds faith. Wilde enjoyed his misery in prison. At the end, every word Wilde says to Percy is love. Not only the last words, but also all the letters in the past 2 years when Percy didn't reply.

The understanding of life is like happiness giving body to beauty, but pain giving beauty soul; it makes me understand the meaning of life and the meaning of pain better.

This is the biggest gain from reading this year.

The cussing and complaining is very interesting. I picked out the Gospel part and couldn't read it several times. But the more I read, the more moved I became. Mad and the affectionate Wilde signature made me laugh again.
