Some thoughts after reading the "Tao Te Ching": The ancients regarded wealth as floating clouds, and abandoned fame and fame as worn-out shoes. They do not seek credit, do not invite fame, do not mention merit but merit is the same as the sun and the moon, do not mention fame, but fame is important in the past and present. It is good to be calm and pure, and to practice self-cultivation by always embracing oneself and staying in the center. At the beginning of cultivation, one must first eliminate all emotions, sweep away distractions, and achieve emptiness and tranquility, no different from ignorance. During this process, the scholar must guard the center and embrace oneness. The deeper it is hidden and the smoother it is, the more effective it is in cultivating. From this point of view, the matter of cultivation is only due to the fact that people have their own behinds, their temperament is restrained in the front, they focus on regulating their breath; material desires are behind, and they abandon distracting thoughts. As long as there are no worries in the heart and no worries in the mind, the heart feels like an empty vessel. This is what we call the ancient saints who never left their homes or walked in the dusty streets. They lived among trees and rocks, wandered around with deer and hogs, and never moved a step. They had no friends, and seemed to be lonely. And the divine concentration leads to wisdom. Even if it is not done, it is better than those who do it; although it is ignorant, it is far better than those who know it. There is only inner knowledge and no external view. If a scholar reaches this state, that will be enough.

I spent two days reading the Tao Te Ching and understanding some later generations' annotations. There are many, many thoughts in my mind. I experienced many feelings that I had never experienced before. My thoughts collided fiercely, and I felt a pure energy flowing through the limbs and veins of my body. Later, when I was washing dishes, I saw water, and suddenly I thought that water can not only purify itself, but also purify others. More importantly, water is not only formless and can change at will with the shape of the container, but it can also change its own fundamental state. It evaporates into steam when heated, condenses into liquid when cooled, and condenses into ice when cooled again. Nothing in the world can restrain it. "No one in the world is softer than water, and no one who attacks the strong can win." Sure enough it is: more than the Tao!
