What is loneliness?
Loneliness means having to cope with life alone.
The comfort that cannot be found, the dependence that cannot be broken, the loneliness that cannot be stopped, the anxiety that cannot be shaken off, and the future that cannot be determined...
All of these will bring us endless loneliness.
[Why do people feel lonely?
Adler believed that people's loneliness stems from deep inferiority. Inferiority is a black hole in our souls, and we need to ask for many things from the outside world, such as love, presence and security. Once the request is blocked, it will lead to excessive self-protection, closing the heart, cutting off connections with others, thus breeding loneliness, emptiness and inner lack of loneliness. This kind of loneliness caused by low self-esteem is difficult to eliminate even if you hang out with friends all day long.
[How to get rid of being alone?
The answer lies in relationships with others. Only those who can grow in their relationships with others can truly transcend their inferiority complex and become a person who has good connections with others. Only people who can communicate with others can truly not be affected by other people's opinions and create a healthy and independent personality. Only by having a healthy and independent personality can one truly establish a sense of security, trust and existence. Even if one lives alone, one will not be out of touch with society or lonely.
[What can this book provide?
Adler's fifteen lectures on loneliness start from the psychological roots of low self-esteem, peel off the cocoons, and gradually reveal the process of independent personality formation, so that people can learn to balance the relationship between themselves and the world, make up for the lack of inner trust, insecurity and existence, and get rid of loneliness.
When you learn to connect with the world, you can withstand the difficulties of the world even if you are alone.
