Your free protection period lasts only 30 days. You must keep projecting your main city into various instance worlds to acquire resources scarce in your territory, complete certain achievements to earn more protection time, and unlock special buildings within your territory.
A disaster will strike your territory at random once every month, so remember to expand your troops and defensive structures.
Once you unlock the Trade Center, you can negotiate with other lords across the Infinite World and trade certain supplies.
