Tales from the Great House

A young concubine-born daughter of a marquis, born on the border and raised with her parents' love, only returns to the capital with her father once she's grown. On the journey home, she happens to meet the heir to a prince's household. To her surprise, five years later, the heir, newly returned from the battlefield, takes her as his principal wife. She has to marry sooner or later, so marrying a handsome, wealthy man she's met before is better than marrying a complete stranger. After the wedding, though, she finds that married life has plenty to look forward to. What? The prince, her father-in-law, also brought back a country girl from the battlefield to be his secondary wife? Do these two men have the same terrible taste? See how an ordinary young woman makes her way in a grand household and thrives among the powerful and wealthy. There is plenty of fun to be had using a little cleverness to navigate the everyday squabbles of an elite family.
