Chu Ci is an emperor, a female emperor, and an incompetent ruler who fakes a pregnancy to keep the court in check.
Faced with a problem she can't solve? Easy, she hides under her desk.
Faced with a thorny situation? Easy, she claims to be ill and refuses to attend court.
Faced with the Grand Tutor? Without a word, she leaps up and chases after him with all her might!
.
What! A border city has fallen? Wait, first she needs to have a little chat with the Grand Tutor.
What! The prime minister is plotting rebellion? Wait, first she needs to flirt with the Grand Tutor.
What! The ministers are asking her to abdicate in favor of a worthy successor? Wait, she hasn't won the Grand Tutor's heart yet...
.
A life without dreams is like being a salted fish.
But the moment a beautiful dream comes true, it can be worse than never having had it at all.
The court is full of unfathomable schemes, while outside the window, the storm rages without end.
She cannot stay by the one she loves, nor can she even find a moment of peace with him.
All she can do is let him go, her tear-blurred eyes able to make out only the bitter smile at his lips.
“A Ci, I will protect this realm for you.”
