The Phoenix Dances to a Parting Song

She is a princess of Donglin who grew up among commoners. She only wanted a quiet, ordinary life, but he forcibly swept her into the tumult of the world. He is Prince Xuan of Xiyue. From the moment he met her, they were destined to be entangled for the rest of their lives. She said, “I've had enough of a life full of schemes and strife. I'm leaving. Don't come looking for me.” He said, “For you, I would gladly hand over all the splendid lands stretching for thousands of miles. I'd choose you over the throne, even if it meant losing my kingdom!” “Over wine, I try to speak of the day I'll leave, but before I can utter a word, my springlike face is already choked with sorrow. Humans are born to love so deeply; this grief has nothing to do with wind or moonlight. Don't play a new tune for this parting song, for one melody is enough to knot the heart. I must see every flower in Luoyang before I can part easily with the spring breeze.”
