The ending is one where I doubt myself and at the same time have no evidence to substantiate any of my theories. And no matter which reasoning is right or wrong, I will be confused for the rest of my life with guilt towards Jingzi. Is the Yin Beast my fault or my own inner condemnation?
In fact, I think the first reasoning devised by Ranpo in the book makes sense. Maybe I was too slow to notice the handwriting.
