The book is very interesting, but a bit sadistic at the end. Both the male and female protagonists die in the end, but they are together in modern times. The male protagonist was very pitiful when he was very young and felt very innocent. If his parents had been kinder to him and not listened to fortune telling, would the outcome have been different?
