Life as a Taoist in the City

The moment you enter the Dao, its depths are like an endless sea; three thousand evil ghosts come to heel. The Yin-Yang Divine Pendant opens the gates of the underworld, while the prison of Heaven and Earth binds souls in grief. Chen Fusheng had lived in an ancient temple since childhood. One day, he accidentally bumped into a statue and gained the ability to communicate with the gods and ghosts, including the Civil and Martial Judges, Ox-Head and Horse-Face, and the Black and White Impermanence. The great Dao may be achieved by all, but the shadowy road of the dead is hard to tread alone. Chen Fusheng guides wandering souls, destroys vengeful ghosts, battles evil infant spirits, and slays walking corpses. By accumulating good fortune, he becomes a Yin-Yang Ghost Immortal. He braves a secret realm in the Dragon Palace, fights an ancient blood-sucking tree, gets stranded in a mass grave, claims a soul-pinning nail, and obtains the Seven-Star Yin-Yang Art. The Book of Life and Death records everyone’s past and present lives, but Chen Fusheng, raised by the old man who watched over the temple, has no idea who his parents are.

“I’ve read countless people and witnessed countless karmic ties. Why can’t I take a look at myself?”

The archivist shows mercy and investigates the people’s plight; the Book of Life and Death records who lives and who dies. The Ghost Eye of Life and Death! Open!

“Th-this can’t be!”

“This has to be fake, it has to be!”

“Father, Mother, I’m coming. Wait for me!”
