Dark Night

Five years ago, a shocking mass murder case rocked Nanyang City. Liu Tianhao's uncle, a lead detective on the case, was accused of taking bribes and dereliction of duty, allowing the main suspect to escape. He was sentenced to eight years in prison. Unwilling to accept that his uncle was guilty, Liu Tianhao gave up his studies at Tsinghua University and enrolled in the China Criminal Police College. He wanted to investigate Case Five and clear his uncle's name. After graduating, he turned down the chance to stay in the capital and resolutely returned to his hometown, Nanyang, to join the provincial Criminal Investigation Unit. Under veteran captain Han Zhongyi, he learned the art of solving cases. He put his training to the test and quickly cracked a series of murders in just three days, earning comparisons to the modern-day Sherlock Holmes from the media. After Han Zhongyi was transferred, Liu was ordered to form Criminal Investigation Team Five, specializing in the toughest cases. As he investigated, he realized that behind the bizarre crimes lay not brilliant methods, but unfathomable human nature and heartbreaking truths. When he finally braved every danger and reached the truth behind Case Five, he discovered that the closer he got to the truth, the more perilous his situation became... The truth won't emerge until the very end!
