Chang Lingyun is a descendant of Chang Yuchun, a founding general of the Ming dynasty. Destined to shoulder the mission of saving all living beings, he is brought to Mount Shu by the sect leader, Immortal Wuji Liu Changqing, to cultivate the arts of immortality. After attaining immortality, he learns that Borjigin Boduojin, a descendant of the Yuan imperial clan, has fallen to the demonic path and become the leader of the demon race. Boduojin seeks to conquer the human realm, destroy the Ming dynasty, and restore Yuan rule over humanity. Raised with the Chang family’s ancestral instruction to safeguard the Great Ming realm on behalf of his ancestors, Chang Lingyun resolutely sets out for the human realm to fight the demons led by Boduojin. Thus begins a struggle among the five realms of Heaven, Demons, Immortals, Humans, and Monsters.
