In My Next Life, I Won't Be Born into the Imperial Family

Although this book portrays the rise and fall of imperial power through the dynasties of feudal society, it is always bound up with human relationships and the ways of the world, with political schemes and stratagems, and with suspicion, infighting, usurpation, and intrigue, often ending in bloodshed. Yet this book does not aim to teach people how to scheme or manipulate. Instead, it focuses on depicting the harrowing struggles of those in power as they wrestle with their own humanity. It reveals how supreme imperial authority distorts human nature, forces people to survive like trapped beasts and prisoners, and drives them step by step toward conspiracy and the inversion of good and evil. It shows how it creates wrongful convictions and blood-soaked tragedies, turning the human world into an arena and a slaughterhouse.

At the same time, through these power struggles, the book seeks to explore the forces of justice, integrity, goodness, and beauty that still endure in human nature.
