I cried a total of 5 times after watching this, once when the protagonist and the heroine were in conflict, twice when the protagonist died, three times when Pikachu died, four times when no mythical beast left him, and five times when Suicune died.
There may be a slight difference in the original work, but I have to say that it looks more interesting this way.
