Stories of old took many forms: fantastical legends, historical mysteries, and tales of talented men and beautiful women. The last kind, in particular, has inspired countless lovesick men and women to sigh and dream. The likes of Dream of the Red Chamber and The Story of the Western Wing are much the same. The martial arts tales of Jin Yong and Gu Long merely put a different spin on the formula, while CEOs and goddesses dress it up in modern clothes. Inspired by The Old Man Who Tended His Garden and Met the Fairies, this story uses an imaginary setting to tell a fantastical tale of a brilliant scholar who excels at both letters and arms, and a beautiful woman with the soul of a ghost.
