"A Man's Journey" contains ten essays written by Thoreau during his wanderings, about mountains, streams, and landlords; about winter snow, forests, and squirrels; and about autumn maples, wild apples, and the moon! Through these words, Thoreau's image emerges vividly on the page. His simple lifestyle is also the most avant-garde concept of the 21st century: pursuing the most basic material needs and the richest spiritual aspirations.

Thoreau's poems and distant places are not only in Walden Pond. When you are in a bad mood, read a poem and everything disappears. The gifts of nature are beautiful, and when you go out, you also take it into your heart. I learned about oak, pine tree planting, scarlet oak (baobab tree ~ a tree that can eat, drink and live, with a lifespan of up to 5000 years), hop planting and harvesting, which is similar to grapes. Wild fruits must be picked and eaten at will, that is, outdoors. The sweetness of wild fruits can only be tasted by wild or wild taste buds. (China did not introduce Yantai until 1871, Qingdao in 1898, and Dalian in 1905)
The day is but a Scandinavian night, and our winter is an Arctic summer. There is the home of the younger generation, who like the Scandinavians inherited their father's business and traveled across the ocean to get there.
As long as you let me believe that you have a seed, I will expect miracles to happen.
There is no gap left in nature, and no corner is not full of life. I explored with great interest the sources of various sounds at noon in summer. These sounds seem to be the tiniest particles, but it is these particles that build eternity.
There are three indispensable elements for strolling - leisure, freedom and independence, which no amount of wealth can buy.
On the morning of Wednesday, September 25, 1850, I left Concord, Massachusetts, for Quebec, at a cost of seven dollars round trip, a journey of 510 miles from Boston. I have to return to Montreal within 10 days, by Friday, October 4th.
When you are young, the sky is high and you have wide avenues and parks. In your old age, you will be a generous, tolerant and open-minded person!
Good book, can be read again and again
Reading this kind of book can make people feel calm and think about life.
As the author said, although there is no perfect person or house in the world, the kindness and fraternity of the landlord are so precious. His help to strangers is heart-warming. This book also made me think that we should pay more attention to people's inner qualities rather than external perfection. In short, I highly recommend you to read this book. I believe you will also have many feelings.
Plain and beautiful language, rich and colorful content
