The tenet of Adler's psychology is that individuals can only thrive and realize the value of life in a team; similar to Freud, he also believes that the misfortune of the original family is the root cause of many people's lifelong character defects; and through the analysis of mental cases of depression, obsessive-compulsiveness and other psychological problems, as well as laziness, rebellion and other character defects, he restores to us his meticulous insights into individual psychology, and also conveys hope to readers that any close relationship has the possibility of repair, just as any personality with low self-esteem can be transcended with the intervention of science.

I prefer some of Alfred's views than Freud. I feel that our inferiority and narcissism are really affected in childhood. Later, I came into contact with some examples of depression and bipolar disorder, and I feel that parents have a huge influence on their children.
Although it is called "individual psychology", Adler always placed the individual in a social environment to examine it. The individual he saw was never an isolated creature, but a social existence that must and cannot avoid establishing connections with others. In this book, Adler uses rich cases to teach individuals how to establish and maintain a sound personality. His focus involves many aspects of life, including intimate relationships, social interaction, and children's education. Therefore, to a certain extent, Adler's book is close to a psychotherapy. There is no doubt that Adler is much more professional than some of the best-selling psychology booksellers on the market.
This book is very well written and gave me a deeper understanding of individual psychology. Studying individual psychology has helped me a lot, giving me the courage to change myself, and providing clear guidance for the direction of my efforts. Adler's individual psychology has really changed me a lot and given me a more comprehensive understanding of myself. Individual psychology is different from other schools of psychology. Individual psychology pays more attention to reality. Although it lacks the construction of a theoretical system, understanding these ideas of Adler and based on these relatively scattered theories makes me feel that Adler's entire system of individual psychology is actually very clear, but more people are needed to improve it and construct a real theoretical system. Individual psychology is very practical, but it is indeed imperfect. It is really difficult to change yourself, but I hope that by studying individual psychology, I can find my true self, cultivate social emotions and interests, be able to make correct psychological compensation, and also hope to learn rationally. Some people say that one of the shortcomings of individual psychology is that the explanation is too negative. I disagree. Adler's individual psychology analyzes children and adults with problems from a more novel and comprehensive perspective. It does not think from the perspective of patients alone or from the perspective of normal people. This is more similar to the "God's perspective." The patients mentioned by Adler were more negative in their hearts. I didn't agree with some concepts of individual psychology at first, but slowly I discovered that its perspective of thinking was different from the public's. So I think Adler's explanation cannot be said to be too negative. For me, it resonated a lot, and it gave me strength and the courage to take the first step.
Just like I just got married and faced new roles and responsibilities, many of the views and cases in the book gave me a lot of inspiration. For example, the expression of the integrity of individual life and life attitude makes me pay more attention to the inner needs of myself and my partner. Moreover, Adler emphasized practice and pragmatism, which also made me understand that knowledge is not only used to predict, but also to change and grow. In short, this is a very valuable book and I recommend it to everyone!
Individual motivation and lifestyle have a great impact, and the social environment also has a great impact. What is the meaning of life? Many times, I often think that meaning is a result, just like the reward for hard work. In fact, it is not. The meaning of life is a process, a process of self-repair. Many of the rhetorical strategies in society are actually conspiracies and tricks. After all, they are the style of villains and are not long-term solutions. What is really a long-term solution is to inspire oneself personally and develop in the most sincere direction.
By analyzing a large number of cases and treatment experiences, this book introduces us to the treatments for many mental illnesses, including procrastination, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsiveness, and cowardice. It uses the timeline as a clue and runs through a person's life, from childhood, to adolescence, to various problems that may be encountered in middle age, such as workplace, social, marriage and love problems. Through scientific and professional methods, we can help us overcome adversities in life, coexist peacefully with life, and realize the value of life.
A very practical book in all aspects. With the help of this book's perspective, you can self-reflect, help with personal growth, and think about ways to solve real-life problems.
