"Sand and Foam" is Gibran's long-standing famous prose poem. The string of words is like a string of pearls. One more word is too much, and one less word is incomplete. It is like a seamless garment. If it were not for a mind that has reached the depth of wisdom, it would never be possible to write such words that can be seen from every drop of water.
"Jesus the Son of Man" is another peak of Gibran's thought, and its achievements are by no means inferior to "The Prophet". For a long time, this peak work has been covered with a religious veil. In fact, in Gibran's writings, Jesus is no longer the shining Christ on the cross for believers to worship. He is just an ordinary "son of man", he is painful and helpless, full of joys and sorrows, laughter and tears. The poem is so wise and shows a lot of philosophical thoughts. The poet's life was full of ups and downs, and he also suffered many separations when he joined the revolution. As a saying goes, people have two hearts, one heart is bleeding, and the other heart is meditating!
I particularly like a sentence in the book: "I am not ashamed to say it." This reminds me of Tom in "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", who is always brave enough to speak his mind. Gibran's words made me see the beauty and infinite possibilities in life, just like picking up beautiful shells on the beach. I will continue to read more of his works and feel his wisdom and warmth.
