Pre-Qin History

Lu Simian (1884.2.27-1957.10.9), Courtesy name Chengzhi, was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. Modern Chinese historian and master of Chinese studies. Yan Genggru believes that Lu Simian, Qian Mu, Chen Yuan, and Chen Yinke are called "the four major historians of modern China". Lu Simian devoted his life to historical research and historical education. He read extensively, focused on comprehensive research, and paid attention to integration. He wrote two general histories of China, four chronological histories, and five specialized histories in his lifetime. In addition, he has a large number of historical notes that are well-known in the field of history, totaling more than 10 million words. "History of Pre-Qin" is the first volume in the Chinese chronological history series written by Mr. Simian. It was first published in 1941 and is one of the most basic reference books for studying the history of ancient Pre-Qin. The first half is political history, arranged in the order of historical events; the second half is socioeconomic and cultural history, narrated by categories. "On ancient historical materials, ancient historical chronology, the origin and westward migration of Chinese families, ancient territories, and the eunuch system, it is said to be very good." It has become a classic work in academic history.
