Reborn as a Drama Queen: I Only Want to Be a Lazy Fish

Film queen Rong Jiao is beautiful and a born scene-stealer. In a single night, she transmigrates into a book and becomes the empress, an early sacrificial pawn in a palace-intrigue novel… With her distinguished family background and the palace full of hidden dangers, Rong Jiao thinks long and hard. She decides to make herself an empress deposed from the throne so she can leave the palace and live a happy, carefree life. But she forgets how deeply the original owner’s reputation has taken root in the Great Yan harem. Voluntarily offering to yield her position is seen by Consort Shen as a bid for the emperor’s favor; helping the emperor take concubines is also seen as a bid for his favor. Even taking a stroll in the imperial garden is seen as a bid for his favor! Fortunately, the emperor himself understands her dream. When Rong Jiao sees the decree dismissing the entire harem so he can dote on one person alone, she stares in stunned silence as someone bites her. “If you want to live like a salted fish, you’ll have to give me a few little salted fish first!”
