This book tells the story of the Liyuan people's grievances, sorrows and joys through the growth of a Peking Opera performer. The novel weaves the rich and legendary life stories of people inside and outside the Liyuan. While writing characters and history from a unique perspective, it also reflects the twisted cruelty of good and evil in human nature through the joys and sorrows of people from the royal palace to ordinary people, and reflects the deep imprint left on people by the times.
Reader comments
This book tells about the grievances, hatreds and patriotism in the theater troupe. Reading this book made me feel a lot. The vivid images written by the author give readers a strong sense of empathy. I love this book very much! I also hope that the author can publish a few more books about troupes or Peking opera in the future. I really like this kind of books!
It's so wonderful. Thumbs up and cheers for Li Yuanmingjia.
I think it is a bit similar to "Farewell My Concubine", both of which tell the story of the life of an opera performer. Moreover, the book also mentioned the Guan Gong Opera, which reminded me of Guan Yu in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". His loyalty has always been praised by people. I think this book not only allows us to understand Peking Opera culture, but also allows us to see the changes in history and the complexity of human nature.
Good book... Twists and turns, moving, exciting and heroic

The plot has ups and downs, is exciting, and makes people feel emotional.
