"The Complete Works of Wang Yangming" (Volume 1, 2) is based on the thirty-eight volumes of the Complete Works of Wang Wencheng engraved by Xie Tingjie in the 6th year of Longqing Dynasty in the Ming Dynasty stored in the Zhejiang Library as the original mark. The Wenyuange edition of Sikuquanshu, the four essential editions, the basic series of Chinese studies, the Chinese Library edition and the complete works of Wang Yangming published in Taiwan and Japan are used as reference editions. If there are errors or differences in the original works, a collation note will be made. The complete collection consists of forty-one volumes, of which Volumes 1 to 31 are written by Yangming himself; Volumes 32 to 38 are appendices: Volume 32 is a compilation of old unpublished quotations, poems and essays. The editor compiled and compiled Yangming's quotations, poems and articles that were not originally published on the basis of previous collections, totaling 28 articles. Volumes 33 to 37 are Chronology 1, 2, 3 and Chronology Appendices 1 and 2. Volumes 38 and 39 are Shideji. , Appendix to the Shideji, Volume 40 contains imperial edicts, sacrificial texts, and biographies, including the imperial edict at the beginning of the original volume and twelve sacrificial essays and biographies added by the editor of "The Complete Works of Wang Yangming, Volumes 1, 2 and 2". Volume 41 is the preface and postscript, which includes the seven prefaces at the beginning of the original volume, and 38 prefaces, postscripts, and epigraphs about Wang Yangming's works or the whole book added by the editor of "The Complete Works of Wang Yangming, Volumes 1, 2, and 2". The authors of these memorial texts, biographies, and prefaces and postscripts range from Yangming's disciples or friends to literati and scholars from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China. Most of them are famous figures of the time. Their articles are of reference value for studying Wang Yangming's life, works, scholarship, and thoughts. "The Complete Works of Wang Yangming, Volumes 1, 2 and 2" is a revised version of the 41-volume "The Complete Works of Wang Yangming" published by our publisher in 1992. It not only revised some inaccuracies and omissions in the forty-seven biographies, memorial texts, prefaces and postscripts in the original 92-volume volume 40 and 41, but also corrected the punctuation errors and typographical errors in the original 92-volume edition.
