Synopsis

Diagnostic writings. Written by Wang Hong of the Qing Dynasty. Volume Two. Hongzi Guang'an, a native of Xin'an. In his medical practice, Wang realized that "you can't know the disease without diagnosis, and you can't know the cure without diagnosis." Therefore, he took the purport of "Nei Jing" and "Difficult Classic" as the basis, and also adopted the relevant discussions of Zhang Zhongjing, Yang Shiying, Li Zhen and other experts, combined with his personal clinical experience, and wrote this book in the first year of Guangxu (1875). Approximately 75,000 words. The first volume contains thirty-nine treatises on diagnostic methods, such as Pingdan, Mingtang's whole body parts, and five-color main disease outlines, etc., Expounding the essentials, principles, and methods of inspection, as well as the relationship between the physiological complexion appearance of the human body and the pathological state. The second volume contains sixty-two treatises on the parts of the internal organs, an outline of the description of the eyes, and diagnostic methods by looking at the tongue. It systematically discusses the diagnostic significance of looking at the eyes, mouth, lips, teeth, nose, ears, eyebrows, beards, hair, abdomen, back, hands, feet, as well as sweat, blood, phlegm, and stool. With concise text and clear outline, it is a practical clinical reference book and an important diagnostic monograph.
