Synopsis

The four volumes of Dunjia Romance were written by Cheng Daosheng in the Ming Dynasty. Daoshengzi Kesheng was born in Haining County, Zhejiang Province. Biography unknown. The book mostly cites the Jiajing and Wanli era names of the Ming Dynasty, and the latest is the 42nd year of Wanli (1613 AD), which shows that this book was written in the late Ming Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, it was included in Sikuquanshu, and later Siku rare editions were published.
