Synopsis

Cao Pi's "Dian Lun" is a treatise on politics and culture. The whole book was probably lost in the Song Dynasty. Today, only two relatively complete chapters, "Autobiography" and "Essay", remain. "Classic Theory." "Thesis" is an early literary monograph in the history of Chinese literary criticism and an important document in the history of literary criticism in the Han and Wei dynasties. It discusses important issues such as the attitude of literary criticism, the writer's personality and the style of his works, the distinction of literary styles, and the value of literature.

This book "Classics" is very interesting! It was written by Cao Pi. It contains many discussions about politics and culture, especially "Essays on Classics". It is an important document in the history of Chinese literary criticism! I think it's a bit like "Wen Xin Diao Long", both discussing literature. And I also found that some of the views mentioned by Cao Pi in the book are very similar to the behaviors of some characters in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms"! For example, he said that "literati despised each other", just like the literati in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" who often competed with each other. However, this also reminds me that we must learn to appreciate the advantages of others in life and not always pick on the shortcomings of others!
