"Compendium of Materia Medica", an ancient Chinese pharmaceutical work. Eight volumes in total. Written by Wang Ang and published in the 33rd year of Kangxi (1694), this book can be regarded as a clinical medicine manual and a medical guide book. Mainly based on "Compendium of Materia Medica" and "Shen Nong's Materia Medica". The first volume is the general meaning of medicinal properties, discussing the nature, flavor, meridians and preparation of medicines: 191 herbal medicines in Volume 1, 83 woody medicines in Volume 2, 31 fruit medicines in Volume 3, 40 vegetable medicines in Volume 4, 58 water and wood medicines in Volume 4, 25 animal medicines in Volume 6, 41 fish and insect medicines in Volume 7, and 9 human medicines in Volume 8, totaling 478 species. The smell, taste, shape, and color of each medicine are first identified, and then the eight meridians, functions, and indications are described. According to the "ten doses" to which the medicine belongs, the points are recorded at the beginning of the medicine. In later editions, more than 400 medicinal pictures were added, making it more complete.

This book "Compendium of Materia Medica" is very good! It is like a practical medicine guide, with concise and easy-to-understand content and many practical medical prescriptions. It reminds me of Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica", both classics in the field of traditional Chinese medicine. It is very helpful for people like us who are interested in Chinese medicine. Moreover, this book also mentioned the changes in the condition and the diversity of treatments, which reminded me of the "Huangdi Neijing", which is also an important classic in the study of traditional Chinese medicine. In short, this is a very practical Chinese medicine book and worth recommending!
Good, good, good, good, good
Rich in content and detailed, a good book for introduction to traditional Chinese medicine
