"Half Inch Farm" records Sheng Lin's ten years of seclusion.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Sheng Lin and her husband Philip own a half-inch farm in a town called Wharton in the United States. They work from sunrise to sunset, living a rural life in seclusion in the wild forests. Chopping firewood, growing vegetables, fishing, planting flowers, raising bees, raising chickens, ducks and geese... The four seasons in the wild forest change, and various small animals and wild beasts come and go. You can listen to the birdsong all day long, hide and watch raccoons walk, hunt wild boars, raise peacocks. Every day is different. There are new things to do with the flowers, birds, insects and beasts here every day.
Like Sanmao, Sheng Lin also wanders in a foreign land for love, and love is also her destination. There are no tall buildings, no fancy clothes, just mountains and fields, a return to nature. The days in the forest are simple and quiet, frugal and original, contented and joyful. The days do not need to be too full, it is enough to be able to live your true self.

This is different from the pastoral farming articles I usually read online. It feels like prose. I didn't expect to see such novels in Tomato.

After reading "Half Inch Farm", I remembered that I had read a book before, "Riding Over the Alps" by an author I couldn't remember, and thought it should be the same author. I checked online and found that it was Teacher Sheng Lin. Simple, peaceful and free, I really want to live such a romantic life...
This is a rare good book and I really want to read other works by this author.
