In the fourteenth year of the Republic, Fu Jingzhi wanted to elope with Li Munan. She knelt before the ancestral shrine for three days and nights.
With her family ties severed, Li Munan held her and said, “Jingzhi, you still have me. I'll never let you down. In this life, we'll share a bed while we're alive and be buried together when we die.”
In the twenty-second year of the Republic, Fu Jingzhi was released from prison and knelt before her mother's grave, bowing her head again and again.
Her heart was dead. Li Munan had become a rising power in the government, with wealth and status in abundance. He handed her divorce papers: “In this life, we have nothing more to do with each other.”
One night, Fu Jingzhi was reborn.
It was now the fifteenth year of the Republic, and she had accidentally entered Shangguan Rui's carriage.
The future young marshal, who would one day wield immense power, kill his father and brother, and seize the throne, was still a callow youth. He had grand ambitions but was mired in the mud, spending his days on wine, women, cockfighting, and dog races as he bided his time in secret.
He gave her the most exquisite diamond and taught her, “This is what you're worth.”
He guided her hands as she learned to shoot, teaching her, “To make sure your shot hits its mark, you have to root out the threat completely. You must do it yourself, or none of it means anything.”
Yet when the Marshal scrutinized him, he merely raised an indifferent brow. “I would never marry a woman with no family standing, no matter who she is. She's not worthy.”
By the eighteenth year of the Republic, everyone in Yongcheng was saying that Young Marshal Shangguan had sent troops into battle for a woman, with not a hint of a romantic scandal. She was the most pampered woman in the world, blessed with the best of luck.
But no one knew that Young Marshal Shangguan didn't even dare touch her bed at night.
That night, Fu Jingzhi pointed a gun at Young Marshal Shangguan's forehead. They both knew that if he came one step closer, she really would shoot, even though everything she knew about guns, he had taught her.
A Republic-era romance about growth, with both sweetness and angst, and a happy ending.
We were not together in the end. I can't accept that the male protagonist is unclean. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned.] Shangguan Rui loves Fu Jingzhi deeply. Fu Jingzhi fell in love with Guan Rui, but never said anything. This book cannot be said to be abusive, I can only say that sometimes it is not a good thing for people to see too clearly. Not trapped by love, no matter what happens, he is as calm as a human being. When you really understand this book, you will know that the heroine is not a cold-hearted person, she is just a lonely and courageous person in her previous life, which left her covered with wounds and unwilling to open her heart again. The heroine loves the hero, but that kind of love is not the kind of love that will accompany you till the end of time, walk hand in hand for countless years, and be willing to bow to the other person and say I love you. The kind of love that I hope you will be well is enough. We will be satisfied if we love each other in this life. I think the male protagonist was a little childish and immature in the early stage. Gradually, the male protagonist found that he fell in love with the female protagonist. The young commander, who was so proud to the core, bowed his head in front of Fu Jingzhi. In fact, after I finished reading this book, to be honest, I was a little annoyed when I was halfway through it. Especially after I saw that the male protagonist had an affair with Ye Hui, I wanted to give up even more. Writing, but I still insist on reading. After I can continue reading, I don't care about these things so much. The male protagonist and the female protagonist are both very smart people. But in this smoke-filled Republic of China, they had loved, hated, gone crazy, and been persistent. Although they didn't get together in the end, that was fine. The heroine of this book is indifferent. It's not that she has no emotions, it's just that she has experienced too much and has been precipitated by the years. I learned a truth from this book: sometimes it is not a good thing for people to be too sober. Finally, the author is really great, although this book is very different from the big books I have read in the past about a pair of people who will accompany you through the human years hand in hand for a lifetime. Even the male protagonist of this book is physically unclean. But this is really the first time I have read such a book. Incomparable, looking forward to your next book.
I like it very much, it's a nice series. I really like the author's writing style. Come on ^0^~
It was really uncomfortable to read. The first time I cried in the whole book was because of Ye Hui and Shangguan Bo. But the follow-up of the male and female protagonists was also really heartbreaking. I cried with snot and tears. It is really a good book.
A good start ~ Still reading carefully
It's so beautiful, why doesn't anyone comment? Hahaha
It's great. Is there a second part?
The story is a good one but I think it is too heavy
It's very interesting, but it's a pity that the male and female protagonists are not together!
Very good looking very good looking
