"Desolate Village Returns" tells the story of "I" received a strange-looking receipt from a book fan meeting half a year after the publication of "Desolate Village Apartment" - there was a strange circle drawn in the name column. At the same time, "I" received a distress message from Su Tianping, one of the survivors who returned from the deserted village and a college boy. At his house, "I" found a circle painted on the window that was exactly the same as that on the fan club's receipt.
The ancient deserted village is obviously inseparable, and the curse of Liangzhu may not be broken yet.
"I" and Chunyu found an important clue in Su Tianping's computer - a breathtakingly beautiful face appeared on the DV tape. Her name is A Huan, the last queen of Liangzhu Ancient Kingdom. Ah Huan told the shaky camera that she could only live for seven more days. And a few hours later, "I" unexpectedly met a waitress Lin You who had the same face as Ah Huan in the bar.
In order to see my beloved Xiaozhi again, "I" couldn't help but listen to Ah Huan and put on the jade ring from the deserted village again, even ignoring that a full six days had passed since Su Tianping's accident.
Only the last twenty-four hours remain.
"I" and Chunyu had to go to the deserted village again.
Although the logical reasoning seems almost perfect on the surface, the ending changes in an instant...
Continuing the clues of the best-selling novel "Desolate Village Apartment", the whole story presents a great suspense from the beginning. The protagonist is forced to fall into the anxiety of "the answer must be revealed within a limited time, otherwise something big will happen". The relationships between the characters are intricate and the plot takes twists and turns. In the author's virtual suspense world, love is a constant theme throughout history and reality.
Returning from the deserted village, the curse of the jade ring is still with me. Is it the resurrection of the Queen's soul or the confrontation of dual personalities? Maybe devils and angels use the same body. Can love be an excuse for selfishness, even at the cost of life? The nearly perfect reasoning is questioned by human nature, and the ending changes instantly...

Looking forward to the next work
Cai Jun's writing style is very unique, somewhat similar to "Tomb Raiders Notes" that I have read before, in that it cleverly blends historical and modern elements. Moreover, the characters in the book are also very vivid, which made me pay close attention to the fate of A Huan and the protagonist. I think Cai Jun is a very talented writer and I look forward to more of his works!
