One of the sequels to Dream of the Red Chamber, also known as Sequel to Dream of the Red Chamber. Published as a woodblock edition in 1805, it names Lan Gao Zhu Ren as its author. The identity of Lan Gao Zhu Ren is unknown; only the preface's phrase "our family’s Mr. Fengzhou" suggests that his original surname was Wang.
This "Dream of Red Mansions" is a sequel to "A Dream of Red Mansions", and it feels like it continues the style of "A Dream of Red Mansions". The characters in the story seem to be experiencing dreams one after another, with joys and sorrows, separations and reunions. It reminds me of "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio", which is also full of strange stories and fantasies. However, this book seems to focus more on describing the rise and fall of the family and the fate of the characters. I think the author is very thoughtful and can give a new feel to a story that everyone is familiar with.
Interesting! Thank you, Mr. Author, for your trouble!
