The Master Brewer

As society rapidly develops, the older generation's handmade brewing techniques are gradually being replaced by machines. In the Mao family's Yun branch, she is the only one of her generation to inherit the traditional method of brewing Maotai.

New varieties of liquor keep appearing, and modern brewing techniques produce high yields. Several once-famous brands have vanished from the scene, while the market is flooded with counterfeits and chaos.

At an auction, Mao Yunyun meets Chen Dong after refusing to sell the Maotai her father brewed by hand. She breaks her word and signs a labor contract with him.

Chen Dong develops new varieties of liquor, and his factory mass-produces what Mao Yunyun considers soulless booze. She has nothing but disdain for it.

When the two brewing methods collide, new culture sparks against old craftsmanship.

As they get to know each other, Mao Yunyun gradually learns to understand and accept the value of new liquor, while Chen Dong comes to appreciate and embrace the appeal of traditional craftsmanship.

They admire each other but also get on each other's nerves. Though they clash, they help one another, each growing as they pursue their ideals and careers.
