It's still pretty good, but I don't like it when the protagonist spends a year of his life and a chance to save his life to save a group of unrelated people, and he doesn't even hesitate to believe it. You must have the intention to harm others, and you must have the intention to guard against others, not to mention that the protagonist has already realized the horror? This is not playing house.
