Summary of the novel: The He family divorced their former daughter-in-law, and the Wang family hired her again and remarried her. However, the He family's son still wanted this daughter-in-law, so the He family regretted it. The He family used their own assassination team to seize the village but failed, and colluded with the Japanese. The Wang family established the Self-Defense Force to defend their village. Until the Japanese were driven out of China, this novel was originally titled "Marriage Change". Due to a conflict with the title of the movie of the same name, it was renamed "Under the Jujube Tree". After the advice of celebrities, it was finally decided to "Deep in the Jujube Forest".
