I really still like Keigo Higashino's novels. Although he is criticized by many people now, there are always characters in his novels who are very persistent in pursuing the truth and want to punish criminals more urgently than taking credit for themselves. I really like them. Arata does not have a strong sense of justice because he is a policeman, but he became a policeman because he is that kind of person. Another feature of Keigo Higashino's novels is the investigation of some human nature. An issue worth exploring is that different viewpoints will have different views. The police will want to completely catch the criminals, while the hotel will want to protect the guests. In fact, neither party is at fault. This point is very interesting. This book is quite exciting to read. Some of the little episodes and twists make me want to keep reading. In addition, Monk Nitta is so beautiful and enjoyable! But the criminal's behavior and psychology are not normal. Do you have to squat outside because you want to catch your ex-boyfriend? Isn't there any other place around? After all, a man wouldn't check out early even if he finally stayed for one night. It would be more realistic to stay somewhere else for one night and get up early before staying there. After reading the three novels of Persona, Arata's character design is getting better and better. If it was still the same as the first one, I wouldn't like it.

The first part of the series, Hotel Service Guide, is actually pretty good.

Masked Hotel begins with the arrival of the police. I think the most exciting part is that many unexpected things happen in the hotel that are nerve-wracking. They feel that they will be related to the case, but then the danger can be averted. Nitta's acumen as a police officer and Shang Mei's dedication created a beautiful spark. The clues left behind made the case complicated, and then the murderer turned out to be one of the characters in the hotel's unexpected incident, which was very exciting.

It's a good concept. It's very attractive and I kept reading. I always thought that the person who committed the crime would be a hotel employee, and I had doubts about it for a long time. I liked the foreshadowing and reasoning at the beginning, but the final ending felt a bit rushed, and it didn't seem to be on the same level as the previous description. I didn't like some aspects of Arata and Naomi's portrayal. My favorite character in the book is Noshi [laughing]. Overall, I felt good.

From beginning to end, in fact, the murderer is a person who occupies a small part in the chapter. Often everyone thinks that the place where danger is most likely to occur may only appear dangerous on the surface, and the murderer is often unexpected.

I have read so many books by Higashikata and I have never guessed the ending correctly, but this time I actually guessed the key character in the film. Although I did not guess that she was the murderer, I always thought that she or her husband must be the murderer or someone related to it. Hahaha, I feel a full sense of accomplishment [laughter]
