He and she fell in love at first sight as children, but years later, their fate drifted through schemes and lies.
She gave up her peerless beauty and left the man she loved behind, entering the palace only to take revenge. Yet, paying no heed to her true feelings, she strayed farther and farther from her original purpose.
He had his heart set on the realm and thought he had found his beloved, never realizing that they had been missing each other all along. By the time the truth came to light, things could no longer be as they were at their first meeting.
And he, a man of noble character, as clear as a gentle breeze and bright moon, was helpless against the fate laid out for him. Would he waver between the realm and the woman he loved? Could this refined young gentleman of a troubled age remain unstained for that one glimpse of violet beauty? Another woman was as lovely as a cherry blossom, yet her fate was just as tragic.
One wrong step led to another, and in the end she was trapped within the palace, hemmed in by red walls and towering roofs. She, too, was a pitiful soul in the name of love.
After the years have passed, where will love find its home? The night is still young, and the hibiscus blossoms drift away.
It is very consistent with reality. Gu Peizhuo and Yi Jin kept the promises they made when they were young, but they changed their minds when they grew up. Gu lost his heart in the relationship with Ruying, but Yi Jin restrained his love because of hatred and indifference. It is normal for them to eventually separate.
The writing is brilliant, full of artistic taste, and the diction is profound and beautiful. Although too many details are omitted, the content is complete. I like it very much. However, the plot is twists and turns and pathos, which is beyond imagination, and it is difficult for readers to accept it 😊
The ending is perfect, I don't believe that Yi Jin doesn't hate Ruying at all.
